Hi!
How are you guys? I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends! Mine was awesome! I travelled with my parents and boyfriend to a hotel on the beach, where we spent our days going to te beach, doing some slackline and relaxing a lot! ^^
Today, I’m posting one pattern that it wasn’t on my to do list, which is growing a lot, by the way. However, a friend asked me if it was possible to make a 10cm Minion for his girlfriend and I got touched with his atitude and decided to accept his request.
I know there are many Minion patterns on the internet, but I haven’t find any in the size he wanted me to do it, which was 10cm. So, I decided to design one. Hope you like it ^^
Finally, I want to wish you a Happy New Year! May all your dreams come true!
Materials:
– Blue and grey yarn (I used Anne by Circulo, which is a Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi));
– Black Yarn (I used Anne by Circulo, which is a Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi));
– Yellow yarn (I used D’Primera by Cisne, which is a Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi));
– Red Yarn (I used Anne by Circulo, which is a Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi));
– 4mm and 1.75mm crochet hooks;
– Fiberfill;
– Tapestry needle and scissors;
– White felt;
– Brown, light brown, black and white fabric paint and a paint-brush;
– Transparent plastic (to make the lens of his goggles);
– Contact glue;
– Galvanized soft wire.
Notes:
– I always do my crochet works using continuous rounds;
– Everytime I will do a crochet work, the first thing I do is take a look in the entirely pattern before start doing it, so, I can have an idea of how the pattern works. Well, I recommend you to do the same;
– For sewing the pieces together you will use the tapestry needle;
– To make the eyes you will use the felt and the fabric paint;
– To make the lens of his goggles you will need a transparent plastic;
– Please be extremely careful while handling the wire, it may hurt you if you don’t handle it properly.
Update (06.06.2015): Hi Guys! I want to thank you all for being so kind and for all the kindly words you sent me by comments or email! Recently, I’m having a hard time to answer all the questions sent to my email and the comments. I’m sorry that I’m not able to answer your doubts. However, if you have any doubt, I’m sure that it is worth to leave a comment here, because even if I can’t answer you, I’m sure that someone in the community will try to help you out ^^

– Heart Balloon
To make the Heart I used this pattern designed by Taube Skywalker.
Then, I cut a piece of wire and placed it into the heart to make a balloon. Finally I wrapped the wire on his arm.
– Assembly
1. Sew his overalls to his body. Then, make a row of sl st into the front loops of the edge of his overalls:
2. Sew the straps, side pockets and middle pocket of the overalls;
3. Sew his legs;
4. Sew his feet and then make a row of sl st into the front loops of the edge between his feet and his legs:
5. Sew his arms;
6. Sew his gloves;
7. Cut a round piece of white felt to make his eye;
8. Use the fabric paint to paint his iris, pupil and reflection. First use the light brown and paint a circle. Then use the brown to make an edge in this circle. Use the black paint to make his pupil and at the end use the white to make the reflection;
9. After that, glue his eye to the body and then sew his goggles around his eye;
10. Sew the strap of the goggles;
11. Cut a piece of transparent plastic and put some glue in its edge to glue it to his goggles;
12. Cut six pieces of black yarn to make his hair. Use a needle to pass the hair through his head leaving a line like in the photo bellow:
13. Put some glue in the black yarn, in the place near the line, to fix it to his head;
14. Make the symbol in his middle pocket using fabric paint;
15. Cut a piece of black felt to make his mouth.
16. Cut a piece of wire (soft galvanized thin wire) and pass it through his arms and body as shown in the photo bellow. Then, cut and hide the tips of the wire. This will allow his arms to be poseable.

Such a cute minion. I was a little confused about row 7 of the arms. Should I decrease from 5 sc to get 3 sc?
